Internet is Back!

Well, we got our connection back so I have a few things to update with...
We had a good Father's Day weekend just relaxing. On Saturday we went up to Blowing Rock and Eli played at the park there. We hit the Candy Barrel at Mast General and walked around through the shops then went for a short hike on one of our favorite trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway...this was all between a few rain showers.

On Sunday we just chilled out with Daddy...we are so thankful for him!
Here are a few of the pictures I took for our Fathers and Grandfathers for Father's Day...

Can you tell by the look on Eli's face who he has more fun with!?

A Rather Blessed Redneck Summer! : )

Those 2 were so funny playing in the water together. I'm getting to the point where the pregnancy is starting to slow me down, especially with the heat. So anytime BJ is around to play I take full advantage and sit my fanny down. As I was watching them play in our 1 ft. above ground swimming pool I couldn't help but chuckle at how WT (white trash) we must look. Our grass didn't get mowed last week b/c of the rain and is now over-run with weeds and both of Eli's swimsuits were in the laundry so he was just wearing disposable swim pants and a t-shirt. Both boys need haircuts! And here I am 8 months pregnant with my bare feet propped up eating watermelon at our patio table! I guess I'd forgotten what summer was like in the south! I am on my way to becoming BJ's very own "queen of my double wide trailer!"

I couldn't help but laugh out loud thinking about all of this. Truth be told, there are days when I wish our lives were a little more sophisticated and I had it all together (or at least appeared that way on the outside). But when I look at Eli's face and see his pure joy over something as simple as a water hose and a bucket of sand, something in my heart says, All is well. Life is good. Simplicity is a blessing. Sure, there are serious things that need my attention and there's a whole lot of the mundane- closets that need organizing, dishes to be washed, bills to be paid, laundry and haircuts, and grass cutting. Life isn't always a walk in the park, but every once in awhile we have to let some of those things fall to the back-burners of our minds and take joy in all that God has blessed us with! Even if it is as simple as a little boy's smiles and laughter over his 1 ft. plastic above ground swimming pool.

So it was a good weekend to take the time to appreciate and count my blessings...the simple ones- like watermelon and green grass...and the weightier ones- my wonderful husband who is an amazing father, our sons, and our faith.

Quick Update

It's hard to believe summer is here!
We are all doing well. I had a checkup today and everything is great. Baby Gavrun is a very active little guy lately! I feel him wiggling all the time. Last night BJ and I just watched the outside of my belly for about 20 minutes while he put on a show for us!

Eli is doing well too! He got a package from G.G. and Papa the other day with some Elmo big boy underware and a personalized Dvd that teaches colors and the alphabet. He LOVES the Dvd because it has an alphabet train and asks for his "choo choo" every day now. I have some videos to post but we are having internet issues so I will have to post those later.

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far! I'll be back to posts pictures/video soon!

My friend Amy had last week off so Eli and I were able to spend some time doing some fun things with her and her daughter Harley. On Friday we all went to the Catawba Science Center.

I hope you enjoy the music!
