Sit n Stand Test Drive

We took the boys for their first ride in the sit n stand stroller around the track today. They both loved it! It's nice to be able to face them while you are going along. I was a little nervous that Eli wouldn't like it, but he seemed happy as could be. Hopefully it will stay that way. Double strollers sure are huge though! It will take me awhile to get used to maneuvering it!

Welcome Toby Samuel Gavrun!

Our sweet son finally decided to arrive on his own early Sunday morning at 6:59 a.m. Mommy woke up with labor at 3:30 a.m. It all happened very quickly!

He weighed in at 9 lbs 13 oz and is 23 inches long! He is so big and beautiful! We are enjoying every moment with him!

His name Toby means "believing God is good" Samuel's meanings are "asked of God" and "man who heard from God."

Here are some pictures of him!!!

"Safe?" said Mr. Beaver."Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."

Overdue Blues...

It was the longest week of my life! I feel like a ticking time bomb! Little Gavrun has decided to stay put as long as possible! My due date (the 18th) came and went...

We've had people give us all sorts of advice about how to get a baby out and none of it has worked. I appreciate all the love and concern though! We walked the mall, walked laps and laps around the track, ate baking powder biscuits and spicy mexican food, went swimming and tried a few other tricks to no avail. BJ even made me a hilarious video about all these tricks to try and get me laughing hard enough to break my water (which is what we think happened when my water broke at 38 weeks with Eli after I watched a funny video that BJ made our friend Brian). I laughed so hard I cried, but apparently Little Gavrun is hanging on to my tonsils! So yesterday we saw the doctor and decided to go ahead with induction which will begin Sunday night around 8 pm and then Monday we should have a baby!

So prayers are very much appreciated!

Here are a few pics of Eli at bedtime we took about a week ago. I can't wait for him to meet his little brother!

Eli's Big Ear and etc.

On Sunday Eli woke up and I noticed that his left ear was huge and red. On the back of his ear you could tell that something had bitten him. I called his pediatrician and spoke to the nurse on call and she advised us to take him to urgent care since it was so close to his neck and we weren't sure what type of insect bit him. BJ took him after church and was there for a miserable 3 hours...and in the end the Dr. there just said it was some type of spider that bit him, but not a brown recluse...thank God! By the time they got home his ear wasn't as red, so these pictures don't even show how bad it was. But BJ said he was as good as could be expected while they were there and he got a Thomas the Train sticker from the nurse that says, "I was Brave!"

He loves his pockets!
Mommy needs to get the windex out and clean those window panes!
Last night Eli was drawing on his Magna Doodle. I didn't even ask him what it was...but he held it up to show me and told me it was a ball. This is the first time he has ever done that so I thought it was sweet! So here is a picture of him and his "ball!"

Lake Hickory with Sr. High

Sorry my updates have been scarce lately. We are all doing well though and just waiting for the baby to arrive.

Yesterday BJ had a youth party and Eli and I decided to tag along too. We were at the home of a family from church whose oldest daughter is in the youth group (they have 3 girls). They live right on Lake Hickory and have a pool. It felt great to be in the water! Dr. Fish also got his boat out to take the kids tubing on the lake. Eli got to ride in the boat too...his first boat ride ever and then he even went tubing too!

I hope you enjoy the pictures. Let me apologize in advance for the shaky videos. I didn't think about how bumpy the boat ride would be so I had to hold on tight with one hand and then hold the camera with the other.

oh and one of the slides at the end should say, "wouldn't fall in"...just to clarify.
I don't feel like going back and fixing the whole thing....
