It's been quite a week! Eli has been sick. I've never seen him quite so bad, but he's hanging in there. I've taken him to the doctor twice this week! They haven't been able to give him anything for it though, so we are just riding it out. However, he has decided to finally take the initiative with the potty this week! He has been coming to me telling me that he wants to use the potty and then goes on it! Today he went on it 3 times! He even did # 2! So hopefully he will keep this up!
He has also been doing great with his big boy bed. My little boy is growing up!

Toby continues to do well too! His colic finally resolved itself...thank God! So things have been MUCH more peaceful around here in the evenings!

Halloween 2009

We had a very busy, but fun weekend! Toby was Baptized yesterday and BJ's family came into town for that. Unfortunately G.G. (BJ's mom) got ill right before they were to leave to come down. The doctor said that it could possibly be H1N1 so she decided to stay home. We missed her so much but was glad she was getting the rest she needs to get well so that she can come for a visit next week. We enjoyed our visit with the rest of the family, but just wish it wasn't so short! Toby is having withdrawals today because he snuggled all weekend long with his Aunt Jessica!

I have Baptism pics to post but won't be able to get to that for a bit. For now, here are our Halloween pictures.

The fun began on Wednesday. I took the boys to a Fall Festival at our friends' church. Eli loved playing the games there and getting prizes. On Thursday he got to wear his Thomas costume to school and trick or treat around the classrooms. He came home talking all about "Trick or Treating." And then we went out to Trick or Treat on Halloween night. Toby was a giraffe for Halloween, although he really only wore his costume for a few pictures.

Fall in the Appalachian Country

On Saturday we got with the Cline Family and drove north to Banner Elk to check out the Wooly Worm Festival. According to local folklore, you can look at the colors of the wooly worm to predict how cold the winter will be. Well, it was a beautiful overcast day with snow in the forecast. We all underestimated how cold it was going to be up there so we weren't able to spend as much time outside of the car as we would have liked. But we stopped to eat some BBQ on the way up and enjoyed the fall colors mixed with the white dusting of snow on the tops of the mountains.

Then Monday was a beautiful clear day so BJ and I decided to take the boys and go back up there to the apple orchard that is on the parkway. It was a much warmer day and just nice all around.

I hope you enjoy the pictures...we sure had fun taking them!
