Mast General Store

Monday was Toby's first birthday. We celebrated in the morning with blueberry pancakes!

Then we hopped in the car and headed up to Valle Crucis. Our first stop was Mast General Store.

This has become one of our favorite hangouts since we moved to North Carolina! We first visited the original store in Valle Crucis back in May of 2008. We took some beautiful, winding back roads from Linville to Valle Crucis and stumbled upon it.

The back porch is the perfect place to hang out! Often they will have some old guys in overalls playing their banjos back there.

Inside is a huge toy aisle!

Lots of great toys for wild boys!

Local honey and molasses...
The candy barrel is wonderful!

I put the rest of the pictures from our day in a smilebox album. Toby is wearing two different outfits in them because his daddy let him fall in some mud underneath a swing. : )

Little Sleepy Head

I got a few pictures of Toby when he was waking up from his nap. I love his sleepy little stretch, squint, and then that one eye popped open.

Toby's Party

We had a jungle themed party for Toby at our house Saturday morning. I had put Toby down earlier for his nap, but the party fell during his normal napping hours so he was a bit ornery and also took a spill out the back door landing on his little face. But he recovered and loved seeing his little friends!

Eli loves the kids next door! Especially Marissa who is his age!
I love the look on his face!

Shouldn't he be giving her a ride?

Their dog had puppies! They are big puppies now!

Celebrating 6 Years!

A few sweet memories of our wedding day that I remember:
~The look on BJ's face when he first saw me in all my bridal get-up glory. We had to take the majority of our picture before the wedding, which I know is totally taboo for some, but we arranged a special pre-ceremony meeting in the church and I will never forget it.
~The wife of our keyboardist speaking up and asking if we'd like her to play her flute. I love the flute! She played a beautiful intro to the song God of Wonders, which I walked down the aisle to.
~Walking down the aisle and feeling like Rose during the ending scene of Titanic when she walks into the restored ship and all her loved ones are there.
~Worshipping the God who brought us together during our ceremony.
~ Pastor Weiss's message for us on 1Cor. 2:9-10
~Romans 1:11-12, the scripture inscribed in BJ's wedding band and read at our ceremony.

I am so blessed to be Mrs. Benjamin Gavrun. I look forward to what's to come!
